Arrest made in Battle Ground threats
Posted September 11th, 2013 @ 4:48pm by Brad Ford

Battle Ground police have arrested a 13-year-old student in connection with the threat that forced the closure of five schools on Wednesday.

The threat involved Chief Umtuch Middle School, but because it's located near four other schools they were also closed.   The are Captain Strong Primary School, Summit View Middle School, CAM Academy and Battle Ground High School

This decision was made collaboratively between the Battle Ground School District and the Battle Ground Police Department to ensure the safety and security of staff and students.

School is expected to resume Thursday.

Police say the boy didn't possess the means to carry out the attack.  The threat involved explosives.

The boy's computers were seized and he was returned to the custody of his parents.
