Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies were able to resolve a dangerous situation in Estacada Saturday afternoon.
They were trying to find a suspect in the burglary of a house in the 400 block of Clackamas Way in Estacada.
The suspect, Raleigh Reynolds, ran, jumped the back fence and hid inside of another house.
A woman, who was Reynolds sister, ran from the house.
Reynolds tried several times to run, but the house was surrounded by deputies.
Reynolds came out of the house holding a seven-month-old baby and he was using it as a shield between himself and deputies. They thought he might be armed.
Deputies eventually negotiated with Reynolds to put down the baby and give himself up. He was taken into custody without ancient. He wasn't armed and the baby was not hurt.
The child was Reynods' son.
Reynolds was booked into the Clackamas County Jail on the burglary charge and additionally; obstructing governmental administration, endangering welfare of a minor and resisting arrest.
