Press release via the Newberg-Dundee Police Dept:
Today, August 05, 2014, just prior to 10:30 am the Newberg-Dundee Police Department was notified by the Yamhill County Communications Center that Jennifer Huston's vehicle had been located in rural Sheridan Oregon by the property owner. As noted, this is a rural and remote area of Yamhill County.
Detectives from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department requested Yamhill County patrol deputies to respond and check for any medical needs while driving to the scene.
When NDPD Detectives arrived they spoke with Deputies who confirmed the vehicle was in fact Mrs. Huston's vehicle but did not locate her. NDPD Detectives conducted a sweep of the area. Jennifer Huston's body was found a short distance away.
NDPD Detectives have notified the Huston Family, the Yamhill County District Attorney's Office, the Medical Examiner's Office, and the Oregon State Police Crime Lab (Forensic Division).
While this is an active death investigation, there is nothing at this point to indicate foul play and there is no evidence to believe the public is in danger.
There will be a Press Conference held at the Newberg-Dundee Police Department 4:00 pm this afternoon.
