On July 18, 2013, Judge Michael Simon granted time for the United States, city, and the Portland Police Association to file legal briefs this fall on several issues leading up to trial if the parties involved can't reach agreement.

"The Portland Police Bureau looks forward to continued engagement with all parties involved in this settlement agreement, as well as the community," said Chief Mike Reese. "Even though the agreement has not been adopted by the court, we want to ensure we have a place on our website that serves as a clearinghouse for any items related to the Department of Justice investigation, including meeting times of our various advisory committees.  We also have the action item matrix documenting the progress we've made in implementing the proposed settlement.  These items were either already in process or were reforms the community had strongly advocated for."

The Police Bureau will continue to add information on this site that is relevant to the pending DOJ agreement.
