Ron Burgundy is Coming to iHeartRadio and It's Kind of a Big Deal

Listen up, people — because this is kind of a big deal. The man, the myth, the legend, and one of the greatest jazz flute players of our time, Ron Burgundy, has returned ... and with a podcast!

In early 2019, "The Ron Burgundy Podcast" will officially be available to listen to on iHeartRadio, and Burgundy's beloved San Diegans, as well as all Americans across the country, will be able to tune in and listen to this absolute legend on a normal basis.

"Listen, I don't know what a podcast is, but I currently have a lot of time on my hands and a lot to talk about. I am also broke. Therefore, I am very excited to do this podcast. It is literally saving my life,” Ron Burgundy said in a statement. "By the way, if iHeartRadio says that I harassed them into making a podcast, it is a lie!! A boldface lie!! Did I call them one hundred times in one day? Yes! But that's called persistence! I have filed suit against iHeartRadio for these salacious claims. I will be representing myself legally, since I currently do not have enough money to hire an attorney."

Meanwhile, on Twitter, Burgundy tweeted from his podcast's official Twitter, targeting CNN's Don Lemon. He wrote to Lemon, "Hello, @donlemon! It's your good friend, Ron Burgundy. Don't know if you heard, but I recently had my White House press credentials pulled. They accused me of eating too many hot dogs in the press break room." He added, "They said I ate 12 dogs! I only ate 4 dogs!!! I’m not Kobayashi for cripes sake! Anyway, old friend, was wondering if you could do me a favor."

Don replied, "Mr. Burgundy, I gotta be honest I don’t remember ever meeting you and frankly I’m a little shocked you have White House press credentials. I know I stand for a free press and all but just not so sure you should have those credentials."

Despite Lemon's response, Burgundy is passionate about his upcoming podcast because as the famous anchorman stated, "podcasts are hotter than Jane Fonda's workout tape." See the full Twitter exchange below.

"The Ron Burgundy Podcast" will be co-produced by Funny or Die and is an iHeartRadio Original podcast. Burgundy has signed on for two 12-episode seasons with season one to launch in early 2019 and the second season expected to air in mid 2019.

The iconic anchorman's podcast will be a scripted audio drama set in Ron Burgundy's world (which is sometimes in a glass case of emotion), and resurface the delightful personality that has captured the hearts of fans all over the world since the hit movie Anchorman was released in 2004. The podcast will also feature a variety of behind-the-scenes characters.

Stay tuned for an official trailer from Ron Burgundy in the coming months on iHeartRadio and everywhere podcasts are heard. Stay classy!
