Mt. Hood Meadows is attempting to set a new record on Friday, Jan. 11.
It’s planning to join ski areas across the country to break the record for most beginner lessons taught in one day.
The current record is 6,002.
Mt. Hood Meadows will offer a special deal for those planning to come out. A two-hour ski or snowboard lesson will cost just $20 and equipment rentals and a beginner progression lift ticket can be added for just $10 each.
“We’ve designed this learning opportunity for ages as young as 6 years old. The $40 all inclusive package with the two hour lesson, beginner lift ticket and equipment rentals makes this extremely affordable for a family to come up and learn to ski or snowboard, and have a great time together on the mountain,” said Dave Tragethon, resort vice president of sales and marketing.
Anyone interested in taking part in the day must register in advance by purchasing the package online.
The lesson starts at 10:30 a.m., but Mt. Hood Meadows recommends participants check in at least an hour in advance.
