A TikTok star has been arrested in connection to the death of a Louisiana therapist.

20-year-old Terryon Ishmael Thomas, known as Mr Prada on TikTok, was arrested on Tuesday (October 1) after the body of William Nicholas Abraham, 69, was found wrapped in a tarp on the side of a highway.

Police initially shared photos of a "person of interest" who social media users quickly identified as the Mr Prada, who has 4.3 million followers on TikTok. The viral TikToker has racked up over 500 million likes on his comedic skits.

According to police, Thomas was the last known person inside Abraham's car. The day after the therapist's murder, Thomas evaded a traffic stop, sped away, and crashed his vehicle, police said. He later fled on foot.

The officer involved in the traffic stop identified Thomas out of a six-person line-up, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the Daily Mail.

"The officer positively identified the defendant as the person driving a stolen vehicle, who struck his marked unit as he stood behind it, and who resisted arrest," the affidavit reads. "Upon review of the officer's body-worn camera and in-car camera, the footage coincided with his statement."

Thomas is set to face a judge in Dallas to determine whether he will be extradited to Louisiana on charges of aggravated criminal damage to property, resisting an officer, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
