A person was killed in a fire at the North Portland Safe Rest Village Monday afternoon.
Fire quickly consumed the single unit living pod. Staff at the site used fire extinguishers, but the fire was too hot.
Firefighters arrived within three minutes, but the structure was a total loss. A person's body was found inside.
The medical examiner will determine the person's name and cause of death.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
