Oregon Humane is hosting a unique adoption promotion this weekend, Aug. 21-23, to help adult cats find loving homes. Adopters can select from available cats, 1 year and older, and choose an adoption fee that fits their budget. This promotion is taking place at Oregon Humane’s Portland and Salem campuses
The promotion is designed to “meow-tivate” adopters to consider choosing one of the dozens of cats available for adoption from a recent, large animal neglect case. In June, Central Point Police asked Oregon Humane for assistance with the rescue and transport of more than 80 animals, mostly cats. Since that time, the cats have received extensive medical and behavior care. The estimated cost of their care has exceeded $250,000, stretching Oregon Humane’s capacity.
“These cats have blossomed during their time with us, and we are excited to see them move on to a new chapter in a loving home,” says Eleena FIkhman, Oregon Humane Senior Director of Operations. “When you adopt any cat from our Portland or Salem campuses, it makes a huge difference and allows us to help the next animal in need.”
Oregon Humane’s Portland and Salem campuses are open every day, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
All adoptions include up-to-date vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip, and a free exam at Oregon Humane’s Community Veterinary Hospital in Portland and at participating VCA clinics in Salem.
