This is how I came across a San Diego rapper by the name of KTLYN and how she ended up on the radio! It was just like any other day, I was scrolling on TikTok in my free time when I stumbled upon this video.
I was impressed with what I heard but then I accidentally refreshed my screen and lost the video. I tried and tried but couldn't find her again. I didn't remember her name or save the video. I went on air the next day asking San Diego if they knew her or her handle, and if so could they tag me in it.
The response was overwhelming!
Why, you ask?
Well she had already gone viral, not only on the above video, but in a few other TikTok's!
With over 675,000 (and counting) followers, she was catching that viral wave!
I approached "the powers that be" at the station with the video and told them we need to share this with SD! Especially with the Dago, Tatis and Padres references, it had to be done!
So now when you hear Saweetie Featuring Doja Cat "Best Friend," at about 2 minutes in you hear KTLYN's viral verse every time!
