A homeowner in Northeast Vancouver shot a suspected prowler Wednesday morning.
It happened near 145th Avenue and 49th Street around 5:20 a.m.
The homeowner was awakened by the suspected prowler in the backyard. The homeowner armed himself with a gun and got into a struggle with the suspect. One shot was fired.
The suspect is hospitalized with a life threatening injury.
The Vancouver Police Department Major Crime Unit is investigating.
No other information has been released.
