Semi Hits Stopped SUV In Gorge

Monday around 5:15 p.m., 52-year-old Suzanne Brault, from Quebec, Canada, was driving her semi westbound on I-84 near Corbett when she checked the mirror to change lanes and drifted into the emergency lane.

She hit a Chevy Tahoe that had run out of gas.

The semi crashed through the guardrail, went down an embankment and rolled onto its passenger side on the shore the Columbia River.

Other drivers who stopped helped Brault from the cab of her truck.

There were two people in the SUV...53-year-old Patrick Sheehan Jr., from Portland, and 47-year-old Addison Blackmon III, from Portland.

All three people were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The truck was hauling food.

The semi and trailer will be removed Tuesday.
