Search Continues For Driver In Injury Crash

The search continues for a driver accused of seriously injuring his passenger in a crash in SE Portland Saturday morning.

Police say 29-year-old Nicholas Woods was driving southbound on 92nd Avenue at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into several parked cars before coming to a stop. He ran from the scene, leaving two passengers in the vehicle.

One of the passengers, 34-year-old Cherie Marie Swanson, was suffering from traumatic injuries and was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment. 

The other passenger, Swanson's fiance, was treated at the scene.

Swanson's condition was upgraded Monday to serious and she's expected to survive her injuries. 

Police say Woods may be injured from the crash. 

The family of Nicholas Woods and the Portland Police Bureau are asking for anyone with information about Woods' whereabouts to contact the Portland Police Bureau's Traffic Division at 503-823-2103.
