Police Arrest Child Sex Abuse Suspect

Tips helped the Portland Police Bureau locate and arrest the suspect who allegedly sexually abused a six-year-old boy in a restroom at Pioneer Place Mall.

The incident happened Sunday, March 17.

The Portland Police Bureau Child Abuse Team Detectives received a number of tips from the public identifying the suspect. Officers located the suspect and arrested him in the 3300 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. The suspect confessed to the crimes in an interview with the detectives.

The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Dontai Howe, a 30 year-old male. He will be lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Sodomy 1 and Sex Abuse 1.
