Milwaukie Officer Wounded In Shooting

A Milwaukie Police officer was wounded in an exchange of gunfire with a suspect.

The shooting happened late Saturday night near Southeast Monroe and 42nd Avenue.

A police officer confronted a man from a previous incident involving a gun. The officer used a taser, but it didn't work. Then were was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and the officer wounding the officer.

Other officers located the man near Southeast Jackson and 42nd Avenue where he was hiding under a pickup truck. Officers used a taser and the man was taken into custody. His name has not been released.

The officer who was injured is expected to survive.
