Jusuf Nurkic Tells Rip City Drive He's An All Star

----- Tomorrow night marks the beginning of a long journey for the Portland Trailblazers towards the NBA Playoffs as they open their preseason schedule at the Moda Center against the Phoenix Suns.

Hello to all my friends in Rip City, Chad Doing here.  Are you ready for another dose of Nurkic Fever?  The Blazers will open their preseason schedule at home against the Suns on Tuesday night.  This will be the first of a six-game schedule before they open the regular season on October 18th at the Phoenix Suns.

What should we expect?  Terry Stotts said starters will play around 20 minutes in the preseason opener while they will give plenty of time on the floor to rookies and those guys who are battling for a roster spot.

The real excitement comes from the return of Jusuf Nurkic.  He was acquired from Denver in a trade last year before the deadline in a deal that involved Mason Plumlee and draft picks.  In 20 games with Nurkic, the Blazers posted a 14-6 record and played their way into the playoffs after a slow start nearly doomed their postseason hopes.  Nurkic averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds during that stretch before a leg injury ended his season early.

Nurkic spent most of his Summer in Portland rehabbing his leg and working out.  As a result, Nurkic dropped over 30 pounds.  He says he is in the best shape of his life.  The Blazers need a healthy Nurkic to make the playoffs again after several teams in the Western Conference bolstered their lineups via the draft, trades, and free agency.

Keep in mind, I will be with you for the entire season before and after every game with Trailblazers Warm up and the 5th Quarter.

Jusuf Nurkic joined the Rip City Drive with Travis and Chad to discuss his body reconstruction and the upcoming season with the Trailblazers.
