Nuggets Throttle The Blazers

----- The Denver Nuggets win every quarter as they dominate the Portland Trail Blazers 102-85 Friday night at Moda Center.

With Damian Lillard nursing a strained hamstring on the bench, the Blazers were dominated by the Denver Nuggets 102-85 Friday night at Moda Center.

Nikola Jokic led Denver (17-15) with 27 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. He dominated every defender he faced as the Nuggets scored 26 of their 28 first quarter points in the paint. Wilson Chandler added 21 points and Gary Harris added 17 points on 7-for-12 shooting. The Nuggets won every quarter and dominated the paint with a 64-46 scoring advantage.

Portland (16-16) got 15 points from CJ McCollum and 14 points from Shabazz Napier. The Blazers shot 42.7% from the field including just 6-for-22 from downtown. Jake Layman got the start tonight in place of Lillard going scoreless in just over nine minutes of play.

The loss drops Portland's home record to just 7-10 on the year with the losing streak at Moda Center now at six-games.

Next up- The Blazers play the second of a back-to-back tomorrow night in Los Angeles against the Lakers. Game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 PM.

Chad's take- Without Damian Lillard, the Trail Blazers have no chance.
