Blazers Fall Flat In Memphis

----- Losing Damian Lillard and Maurice Harkless proved to be too much as the Memphis Grizzlies drop the Portland Trail Blazers 108-103 Wedensday night at FedExForum in Memphis, TN.

MarShon Brooks scored 14 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Memphis Grizzlies upset the Portland Trail Blazers 108-103 on Wednesday night. Brooks connected on 4-for-4 from three-point range in the final quarter as the Grizzlies outscored the Blazers 32-22 pushing them to their second-straight win.

CJ McCollum led Portland (46-29) with 42 points on 16-for-25 shooting, but Portland's offense suffered without Damian Lillard and Maurice Harkless on the floor. Lillard returned to Portland on Wednesday as he waits for the birth of his first son, Damian Jr. while Harkless underwent left knee surgery to have a "loose body" removed. Lillard is expected to return to the lineup Friday against the Clippers while Harkless is expected to be out 2-3 weeks.

With Lillard out of the lineup, Wade Baldwin IV scored 15 points on 5-for-6 shooting against his former team.

The Blazers still hold a two-game lead over Oklahoma City for the third seed in Western Conference playoff standings.

NEXT UP- The Trail Blazers will host the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 PM.

Chad's Take- Don't panic Rip City. The Blazers are still in charge of the third seed in the Western Conference even with the loss at Memphis. Bottom line, the Blazers went 2-1 on the road trip. That is a win.
