Pelicans Sweep the Trail Blazers

----- Anthony Davis scores 47 points and pulls down 11 rebounds as the New Orleans Pelicans defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 131-123 Saturday Afternoon at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans to get a four-game sweep in their first round series.

The Blazers showed some fight Saturday afternoon, but it was too little too late for Portland. Anthony Davis scored 47 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as the New Orleans Pelicans defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 131-123 in game 4 to get the sweep in their first round series.

Jrue Holiday scored 41 points including an 18-foot pull-up jumper to give the Pelicans a six-point lead with 40 seconds left in the game. Holiday averaged 27 points per game in the four-game series against the Blazers.

Leading up to Game 4, Damian Lillard called on his teammates to be more physical against the Pelicans after being embarrassed in Game 3. Multiple players responded to Lillard's request.

Anthony and Ed Davis received double technical fouls after bumping one another following one of Anthony Davis'.

McCollum was called for a flagrant foul when he stormed into the lane behind E'Twaun Moore and grabbed the Pelicans guard by the shoulders to thwart a driving layup attempt. Moore then shoved McCollum and was assessed a technical foul.

And in the final seconds of the half, double technical were assessed to Rondo and Portland center Zach Collins after Rondo lowered his forehead into Collins' chest and Collins shoved back.

The Pelicans opened up a 13-point lead by outscoring the Blazers 41-32 in the third quarter before a CJ McCollum bucket cut the lead to 104-102 with 8:57 to play in the game on a 15-4 run by the Blazers. McCollum led the Blazers with 38 points on 15-for-22 shooting.

Jusuf Nurkic played his best game of the series finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds on 9-for-13 shooting before fouling out late in the game. Al-Farouq Aminu scored 27 points including 5-of-11 shooting from three-point range, and Evan Turner added 15 points and five assists playing on a sore big toe.

Lillard's struggles continued in Game 4 as he finished with just 19 points on 7-for-16 shooting. In the four-game series, Lillard averaged 18.5 points and 4.8 assists, while shooting 35.2 percent from the field.

NEXT UP- The Pelicans will await the winner of the Spurs and Warriors. Golden State currently holds a 3-0 lead in their first round series. The Blazers will return home from New Orleans for their exit interviews.

As for the Blazers, time to go fishing.
