Damian Lillard Torches The Magic

----- Damian Lillard connects on a franchise-record 10 three-pointers as the Portland Trail Blazers snap a three-game losing streak with a 115-112 win over the Orlando Magic Wednesday night at Moda Center.

Wednesday night was "Lillard-Time" at Moda Center. Damian Lillard recorded his fourth 40-point game of the season, scoring 41 points including a franchise-record 10 three-pointers as the Portland Trail Blazers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 115-112 win over the Orlando Magic.

The win gave Blazers coach Terry Stotts his 400th as an NBA head coach, and his 285th win as head coach in Portland. He is the 47th coach in NBA history to reach 400 wins.

Portland erupted for 40-points in the third quarter with Lillard scoring 23 points in the quarter on 7-for-9 shooting from three-point range. The Blazers outscored the Magic 40-21 in the third. Lillard finished the night 13-for-22 from the floor including 10-for-15 from three-point range. The Blazers connected on 19 of their 39 shots from downtown.

Before the Blazers outburst in the third, they had to endure an angry Coach Stotts at halftime as he delivered a speech to his team, challenging them to compete on the defensive end and play with intensity.

“It was just defense and he’s been harping on us this whole time,” Zach Collins said. “I think at halftime we finally listened a little bit and we got back to getting in their face, being intense, making them feel us. That was his biggest thing was that they gotta feel us on the defensive end.”

Jusuf Nurkic played Wednesday after suffering a shoulder contusion on Sunday against the Clippers. He finished the night with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists, his 11th double-double on the season.

Portland (13-8) got 37 points from the bench. Nik Stauskas led the way with 18 points on 5-for-8 shooting from three-point range.

Up Next- The Portland Trail Blazers will host the Denver Nuggets Friday night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 PM.
