Spurs Buck Blazers

The Trail Blazers struggles on defense continued Sunday in San Antonio. The Spurs connected on 60.2% of their shots from the field including 73.3% from three-point range on 11-for-15 shooting as they top the Blazers 131-118 Sunday night at AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX.

DeMar DeRozan led the Spurs with 36 points and LaMarcus Aldridge added 29 points and eight rebounds. Rudy Gay scored 18 points on 4-for-4 shooting from downtown and Patty Mills chipped in 18 points off the bench. The Spurs scored 30 or more points in each quarter.

Going into tonight's game against Portland, San Antonio had dropped back to back games to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets by a combined 70 points.

The Blazers trailed 62-55 at halftime, but raced to a 79-72 lead on the strength of a 24-10 run with big shots from Al-Farouq Aminu, CJ McCollum, and Damian Lillard. But the Spurs responded to the Blazers run by closing out the third on a 23-9 run to regain control of the game.

Portland (13-10) got a game-high 37 points from Lillard and 24 points from McCollum. Aminu scored 20 points making it the first time in his career when he has scored 20 or more points in back-to-back games.

The Blazers are now 3-7 in their last 10 games.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers will travel to Dallas for a meeting with the Mavericks on Tuesday. The game is scheduled to tip off at 5:30 PM.
