Last night my mind was stuck on Jerome Kersey. I can't believe he has been gone for over four-years now. I was stunned when I got the news and even to this day I won't delete his number from my phone. I don't want to believe he is gone.
Kersey was the first Blazer I met when I was a kid. He was kind and made me feel great. As time went by, I ended up working with him in radio when I was at another station. We became friends as we developed our on-air bond. Kersey was a great member of Rip City. He embraced Portland the way the city embraced him.
I wanted to celebrate his memory by sharing one of my favorite conversations I had with him. Several years ago I had the opportunity to interview both Jerome Kersey and the "Iceman" George Gervin together. It was fun because you could hear the respect that Kersey had for Gervin.
You can hear the conversation on the latest episode of the "What's Chad Doing" podcast.
