Late Run Powers Timberwolves Past Trail Blazers

----- Anthony Edwards scored a game-high 41 points and Rudy Gobert added 16 points and 15 rebounds as the Minnesota Timberwolves handed the Portland Trail Blazers a 121-109 loss Tuesday night at Moda Center.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are not featured regularly on National television and many of their players are not household names, but on Tuesday night in Portland they showed why they hold the top spot in the Western Conference entering the All Star break.

Anthony Edwards scored 41 points on 16-of-27 shooting and Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 18 points on 5-of-6 shooting from three-point range as the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 121-109 Tuesday night at Moda Center.

Deandre Ayton led Portland (15-38) with 22 points and 16 rebounds and Scoot Henderson added 14 points and nine assists. Anfernee Simons returned to the lineup. He finished with 20 points on 6-of-19 shooting.

The Blazers used an 11-1 run in the third quarter to tie the game at 73. Minnesota led 84-83 entering the fourth quarter.

With the game tied at 86 early in the fourth, Minnesota erupted for an 18-4 run taking a 104-90 lead. Alexander-Walker connected on four threes during that stretch for Minnesota to put the game away.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers host the Timberwolves again Thursday night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.
