De'Aaron Fox scored a season-high 37 points and Devin Vassell added 23 points and six rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 115-102 Wednesday night at Moda Center.
Deni Avdija led Portland (8-11) with 37 points on 12-of-19 shooting. He added six rebounds and eight assists. Portland struggled from beyond-the-arc. Avdija connected on 5-of-8 from three-point range, the rest of the team went 4-for-28.
San Antonio (12-5) dominated the glass with a 57-48 edge in rebounding including a +8 advantage in offensive rebounds.
The Trail Blazers led by three early in the third quarter, but the Spurs responded with a 27-12 run to build a 12-point lead.
San Antonio closed the game on a 22-11 run to put the game out of reach. Portland was outscored 24-16 in the fourth quarter.
With the loss, Portland failed to reach the knockout round of NBA Cup play.
