De'Aaron Fox led San Antonio with 28 points and Victor Wembanyama returned from concussion protocol and recorded a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 114-93 Sunday afternoon at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
With the win, San Antonio now leads their best-of-seven first round Western Conference Playoffs series 3-1 with game 5 coming Tuesday night in San Antonio.
Deni Avdija led Portland with 26 points, Jrue Holiday scored 20, and Jerami Grant added 17 points off the bench on 6-of-12 shooting.
Portland led by two after the first quarter and extended their lead in the second. The Trail Blazers opened the second on a 20-5 run and pushed their lead to 17 with 5:30 remaining in the half. Portland led by as many as 19 in the period and took a 17-point lead halftime lead with a 33-18 edge in the second.
Just like we saw on Friday, Portland collapsed in the third quarter. San Antonio scored 13-straight to open the third and extended the run to 23-4 to retake the lead with 4:05 left in the quarter.
With the game tied at 74 entering the fourth, San Antonio put the game away with a 22-7 run over the first 6:35 of the quarter.
Portland gave up 29 points off of 18 turnovers and had just 14 assists. San Antonio connected on 49% of their shots, 14-off-33 from beyond-the-arc, and had 26 assists.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers will travel to San Antonio to meet the Spurs in Game 5 Tuesday night at Frost Bank Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 PM.
