Tuesday night, a neighbor living near Southeast 38th and Clinton in Portland heard cries for help.  A 30-year-old woman had gone into her backyard looking for her Poodle when she fell into a 20-foot deep sink hole.  She found her dog at the bottom of the hole.

Portland Fire Fighters used a rope to pull up the dog.  They put a ladder into the hole, so the woman could crawl out.

The bottom of the hole was filled with water.  They were cold, but not hurt.

A neighbor told firefighters they recently had work done on a sewage system which might have caused the sink hole.
